Convicted by the Verse of the Day
Of course I know the Model Prayer (AKA Lord’s Prayer) in Matthew 6.  I’ve known it for over 50 years!  But in an effort to not pray rote prayers with no comprehension of what I’m really praying, I have resisted praying it regularly.

So when verse 10, asking God’s kingdom to come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven was today’s YouVersion verse of the day, I was convicted - prompting a sincere prayer asking for guidance on how to seek His kingdom.

Praise the Lord - No If’s, And’s or But’s
“How do you feel when you give someone a gift and they say, ‘Thank you, but I already have that?’ Or, ‘Thank you, but I don’t like xyz?’” I don’t like it.  My gift is greatly devalued and I’m either frustrated the person wasn’t more thankful or I am embarrassed. I thank the Lord that He is regularly teaching me about prayer.

Plans are comforting to me at any time, but especially in a crisis.  Hopefully, early in the process, I realize that I really need to seek the Lord.  And that is what Jacob did.   His prayer is a great model for any prayer, but especially crisis prayer.
